I am currently working on a picture book based on my Mum’s experience when she immigrated to Australia in the late 1940s.

Mum was one of the millions of Aussies speaking a language other than English at home. She struggled to reconcile speaking her mother-tongue with speaking English at school with her mates. It is a light hearted picture book that will resonate with lots of immigrant kids. It has themes of embracing multilingual households, being yourself, and belonging.
